About the Project

Anthrovian is an interactive narrative game based on the Epic of Sundiata — a foundational West African story. Players make choices across 11 scenes that affect three philosophical variables (Badenya, Fadenya, Nyama), leading to one of 6 unique endings. Built as a mobile-first Progressive Web App with audio narration, the game combines storytelling, game state management, and accessible design.

Technical Challenges

Balancing narrative depth with game mechanics was the core challenge. Each choice needed to feel meaningful while the underlying scoring system (Badenya/Fadenya/Nyama) had to produce fair, distinct endings. The audio pipeline required careful synchronization between narration playback and scene transitions.
